As previously communicated to WEX clients, the submission of applications and the compilation of client dossiers were suspended as of September 1, 2024. 

All applications submitted before this deadline have been processed, and the corresponding dossiers have been compiled and submitted to WEX’s management for review. We are pleased to report that significant progress has been made in locating clients, verifying their identities, and obtaining documentation confirming the lawful origin of their funds.

On June 12, 2024, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced the imposition of trade sanctions in the form of a temporary denial order (TDO) against a number of Russian and foreign companies and individuals.

The Lidings team took immediate action to challenge the TDO to exclude its clients from the restrictions list.

On 5 December 2024 the results of the annual Pravo-300 law firms’ ranking were announced at an awarding ceremony at The Carlton Hotel in Moscow. This year Lidings expertise is highly praised in 17 key practice areas.

Russia and the Gulf countries continue to deepen economic cooperation, which becomes especially important against the backdrop of sanctions restrictions. The Russian-Gulf Business Forum: New Ties, New Opportunities (took place in Moscow on 24 September 2024) provided an opportunity for a comprehensive discussion of both business prospects and legal issues related to the activities of Russian companies in the region.

Lidings has signed a cooperation agreement with Leadvisor Global, an international network of consultants. The firm has become the first national legal counsel to represent Russia.

Lidings takes high positions in the new rating of the leading legal advisors in Russia based on the analytical research held annually by the “Kommersant” newspaper. In 2024 the firm is ranked among the TOP leading legal advisors in Russia. 

Lidings is pleased to announce Natalya Thotahewage, a recognized expert in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, joining the firm as counsel and the appointment of Elizaveta Fursova, Head of the Lidings' Employment practice, as counsel.

In March 2024 Lidings partner Stepan Guzey visited the UAE (Dubai), Oman (Muscat), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) and Bahrain (Manama) during his regular business trip to the Middle East.

During the two-week visit Stepan held more than 25 business meetings with representatives of leading local law firms and government agencies to establish and strengthen partnerships, as well as discussed current and future projects with clients to whom Lidings provides comprehensive legal support for both outward and inward investment projects in the Middle East region.

Lidings Dispute Resolution practice team achieved recognition and enforcement of an arbitration award of the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA) in favor of a major German food producer in a dispute against a Russian agricultural manufacturer.
