On 31 October 2024 the Constitutional Court published Resolution No. 49-P on the case of checking the constitutionality of Articles 195, 196, paragraph 1 of Article 197, paragraph 1 and paragraph two of paragraph 2 of Article 200, paragraph two of Article 208 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation (hereinafter - the “Resolution”), in which it considered the application of limitation period to claims for seizure of property obtained through corrupt activities in favor of the state.

On September 24, 2024, Moscow hosted the Russian-Gulf Business Forum: New Connections, New Opportunities, a central platform for exploring business prospects in the Gulf. The event highlighted new avenues for collaboration and showcased the commitment of key market players to deepen ties with one of the world’s fastest-growing regions.

On September 8, new state fees came into force for applications by legal entities and individuals to arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction. The new procedure applies to any applications and complaints filed with the court from September 9, 2024.

On June 25, 2024, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation published the Resolution of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation No. 22 on the submission to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the draft federal law "On Amendments to the Civil Procedure Code of the Russian Federation" (hereinafter - the "Resolution").

On 28 May 2024, the Constitutional Court adopted Resolution No. 26-P “On the Case on the Verification of the Constitutionality of Part 1 of Article 110 of the Arbitration Procedural Code of the Russian Federation in Connection with the Complaint of Citizen E. M. Tumanina”, in which it analyzed the possibility of reimbursement of legal fees associated with the consideration of an application for procedural succession.

On 23 May 2024 Russian President signed the Decree № 442 “On the Special Procedure for Compensation of Damage Caused to the Russian Federation and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in Connection with Unfriendly Actions of the United States of America” (hereinafter – the “Decree”).

The Decree introduces a special procedure for compensation of damages caused to Russian Federation or Central Bank of Russian Federation (hereinafter – “Russian rightholders”) due to unfriendly actions of the US.
