Lidings’ Partner Stepan Guzey will take part in a business event focused on Russian-Iranian cooperation in various sectors, including machine engineering, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and automotive production. A series of round tables under the general title “Business in Iran, Business in Russia - Mutual Opportunities” will take place 1-4 February 2025 in Iran.
Lidings experts took part in authoring the International Commercial Arbitration textbook, published under the auspices of the Arbitration Court Journal. The textbook was prepared by a team of well-known Russian and foreign experts in dispute resolution and international arbitration and is currently by far the most extensive and relevant tutorial publication on international commercial arbitration covering various aspects of it published in Russian.
The third edition of the book has been revised taking into account the updating of arbitration legislation in a number of countries, as well as documents of “soft” procedural law and the development of judicial practice. New sections are included, in particular, on third-party financing of arbitration, the impact of unilateral sanctions on arbitration, and the liability of arbitrators and arbitral institutions.
Lidings experts authored subsections on claims, arbitrability and bankruptcy.
On June 12, 2024, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced the imposition of trade sanctions in the form of a temporary denial order (TDO) against a number of Russian and foreign companies and individuals.
The Lidings team took immediate action to challenge the TDO to exclude its clients from the restrictions list.
Lidings’ Corporate and M&A practice team has successfully concluded its advisory role for the owners of Autotechinmash LLC, the largest auto dealer of Belarusian cars, in restructuring of the company’s founding team.
Russia and the Gulf countries continue to deepen economic cooperation, which becomes especially important against the backdrop of sanctions restrictions. The Russian-Gulf Business Forum: New Ties, New Opportunities (took place in Moscow on 24 September 2024) provided an opportunity for a comprehensive discussion of both business prospects and legal issues related to the activities of Russian companies in the region.
