Lidings’ bankruptcy and restricting practice partner, head of the dispute resolution practice, Alexander Popelyuk, will take part in the conference Bankruptcy, Restructuring, Corporate Conflicts: Landmark Cases and Lawsuits in Modern Russia. The event organized by Forbes Congress will take place on 16 April, 2021 at the Marriott Royal Aurora.

During a lengthy five-year bankruptcy of the pharmaceutical distributor Grama LLC, the bankruptcy manager challenged transactions with suppliers - large international pharmaceutical companies. Worst-hit was AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals obliged to return the bankrupt distributor 266 million rubles. Lidings represents the company since 2019.

During the COVID-19 crisis, Russian regulators implemented a package of emergency legislation including measures referring to the insolvency law. The law was published on 1 April 2020, and on 3 April the Government exercised its right to introduce a 6-month moratorium on initiating bankruptcy proceedings for certain categories of debtors.
