Lidings is pleased to announce the joining of an expert in legal matters in transportation and logistics industry - Sergey Vasilyev.
Sergey has many years of experience advising Russian and international companies on a wide range of issues related to maritime, aviation, insurance, and fisheries law, as well as sanction compliance in these sectors. His expertise includes legal support for large projects for both international brands in the aviation industry, rail, and maritime transport in Russia, as well as state-sector corporations in the field of freight transport and logistics.
Among Sergey’s representative projects: release of a vessel of an international environmental organization, representing interests of the client in the interstate dispute in the Permanent Court of Arbitration in Hague; release of a vessel belonging to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation from the arrest imposed by the district court of Venice; implementation of an interstate project on the delivery of petroleum products under sanctions.
At Lidings, Sergey will focus on advising clients in the transport and logistics industry on legal issues of international transport, transport insurance, financing, purchase and leasing of air and sea vessels, representation of clients in courts, and assistance with conducting business under sanctions.
Sergey graduated from the Law Faculty of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He has a Ph.D. in Law (International Law), from the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation.
