Lidings’ Dispute Resolution practice Partner Alexander Popelyuk will speak at the seminar entitled An Update on Recent English and Russian Law Developments organized by the British-Russian Law Association (BRLA). The event will take place on May 14th 2019 at the Four Seasons hotel in Saint-Petersburg and will coincide with the International Legal Forum.

In the course of the meeting the BRLA’s members will discuss the current legislative changes in Russia and what recent legal developments in the UK may be particularly relevant to Russians and Russian business.

Alexander Popelyuk, whose expertise within Lidings spans bankruptcy, insolvency proceedings and business restructuring, as well as representing clients’ interests in employment disputes and corporate conflicts, insurance disputes and advising on debt collection issues, will make a presentation on recent developments of court procedural reforms in Russia.

The British Russian Law Association was established in 1992 as the successor to the British-Soviet Law Association following the break-up of the Soviet Union. The BRLA’s objectives include strengthening links between the legal professions in the UK and the Russian Federation and providing a networking forum for lawyers, businessmen and anyone with an interest in developing Russo-British contacts and business. Lidings actively collaborates with the Association with Managing Partner Andrey Zelenin being a member of the organizing committee.
