Lidings Partner Alexander Popelyuk Runs Master Class on Subsidiary Liability at LMSU

Lidings dispute resolution practice’s partner Alexander Popleyuk will run a special master class on the topic When Debts of the Company Turn into Debts of its Participants and Shareholders. The event will be a part of the special educational programme for students of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU) entitled Summer Masters’ School and is scheduled on August 30 — September 1, 2019.

This annual summer student event is traditionally divided into two parts. Official part involving master classes ran by the leading legal practitioners takes place at the law faculty of the LMSU and the informal part is a two-day outer city gathering.

Alexander Popelyuk, partner in Lidings’ dispute resolution practice, a highly qualified litigator whose expertise within the firm is focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings will run a special master class dedicated to subsidiary liability issues. In particular Alexander will talk about where the responsibility of controlling persons begins and where it ends, how far does subsidiary liability penetrate, does each member of the corporation is responsible for the corporation and how many years the persons controlling the debtor bear the risk of liability.
