Lidings advises McDonald's Russia in Saratov “Drive-through” property purchase

Lidings, the leading Russian law firm, dedicated to advising foreign companies on all aspects of Russian law has advised McDonald's Russia in its purchase of land property rights for the construction of a “Drive-through” restaurant in Saratov.

Describing Lidings as “a genuine professional in real estate and construction in Russia,” Elena Kashirina, Head of the Legal Department at McDonald's Russia, explained that the transaction forms part of the company’s 2010 business expansion program, and part of its wider strategy to build between 40 and 50 new restaurants in various regions of the country.

Among the first “drive-through” restaurants to be constructed in Russia, the project involved close analysis of lessor rights to ensure the unimpeded operation of the restaurant for the duration of the lease, as well development of territory bordering the site.

Real Estate Practice Group Head Tatiana Bicheva led the transaction, supported by Senior Associate Zakhar Polezhaev and Associate Natalia Goncharova.
