Lidings strengthens collaboration with China as part of its Asia strategy

Lidings’ representatives will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong as part of a business trip to the PRC in the first week of March. The firm’s partner Stepan Guzey and counsel Vadim Konyushkevich will conduct a series of meetings with clients and partner law firms and take part in the regional meeting of International Lawyers Network in Shanghai.

“My colleagues and I are big believers in maintaining personal contact with clients and partner companies in different jurisdictions. We regularly advise on joint projects with leading Chinese law firms, so every visit to this country is always a rich program of events and meetings with long-standing business partners", says Stepan Guzey.

In November 2013 Lidings became the first Russian law firm ever to receive presentation approval by the Shanghai Bar Association and the Chinese Foreign Affairs Office. Head of dispute resolution practice at Lidings Andrey Zelenin and counsel of the corporate and M&A practice Vadim Konyushkevich presented “Doing Business in Russia” seminar at the SBA highlighting principal aspects of legal regulation applicable to foreign investments in Russia.

As part of their upcoming visit Stepan Guzey and Vadim Konyushkevich will attend a conference of the International Lawyers Network scheduled to be held in Shanghai from 5 to 8 of March 2015. The annual ILN events traditionally gather key representatives of the legal community from 70 countries all over the world. Attendees get together to share professional experience, develop and strengthen business relationships with colleagues from different jurisdictions.

This year’s meeting in Shanghai is hosted by Zhong Lun – a leading full service PRC law firm with over 200 partners and 900 professionals strategically located in eight of China's key corporate and financial centers and four international offices including Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and New York. Lidings’ counsel Vadim Konyushkevich will make a presentation on Russia’s investment climate for the conference attendees.
