Lidings advises Turkey’s Ipek Jut in major delivery to Russian trading network Magnit
Lidings, the leading Russian law firm, dedicated to advising foreign companies on all aspects of Russian law advised Turkish company Ipek Jut in the delivery of a major consignment of packaging materials to Russian trading network Magnit.
Lidings advised the client on all aspects of risk management in the transaction, including non-payment, and damage or destruction in transit - a challenging assignment in a sector known for parties’ unwillingness to engage in standard contractual terms.
The transaction was led by Ugur Boyacioglu, Head of Lidings’ Turkish Desk (established in 2007 with the support of Turkish law firm GUR), together with Partners Tatiana Bicheva and Andrey Zelenin, and Senior Associate Larisa Kotova.
Commenting on the transaction, Mr. Ugur Boyacioglu said: “Major logistics operations can be notoriously difficult in Russia, and I am delighted to have advised Ipek-Jut in this very complex and challenging case.”
