Andrey Zelenin is now a сo-chair of the American Chamber of Commerce Enterprise Development Committee

Lidings, the leading Russian law firm, dedicated to advising foreign companies on all aspects of Russian law is glad to announce that Andrey Zelenin, partner of the firm, has become the co-chair of the AmCham Enterprise Development Committee as a result of the election held among AmCham membership.

The first Committee meeting has been held on April 15 2009. During the discussion of committee goals members stressed that the Enterprise Development Committee should differ from other committees and focus on issues related to small and medium enterprise development and growth. Andrey suggested a few key issues:  raising capital, employment and labour issues and tax issues.

Committee members’ meetings are supposed to take place 8-9 times a year, and can be held in several different formats: roundtable, business breakfast, Early Bird Networking session, etc.

Andrey Zelenin also spoke on the new law on “Limited Liability Companies”. In his presentation Andrey spoke about the amendments to the law, foundation documents, new obligations and new possibilities.

During the following brainstorming session on topics that committee must focus on during the next year such issues as the work permits, simplified taxation system, leasing issues and others were included.

At the end of the meeting the topic of the next meeting dedicated to raising capital for small and medium enterprises was chosen.
