ICDR Young and International Seminar in Saint Petersburg

In mid-May 2016 the leading Russian and international arbitration specialists will gather together in Saint Petersburg on the grounds of one of the annual ICDR Y&I events, hosted in major world’s capitals throughout the year, a seminar entitled International Arbitration in Russia: Openness and Choices, to discuss currently important international arbitration issues and alternative dispute resolution tactics.

The seminar will run on May 17th on occasion of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum that will be taking place from 18 to 21 of May. The venue partner of this year’ ICDR Y&I event is Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners law firm, providing its office facilities to host the seminar’s participants.

As as a member of the ICDR Y&I Global Advisory Board represented by Lidings’ Partner heading the dispute resolution practice of the firm Andrey Zelenin, a prominent Russian expert in the field of international arbitration with a wide experience in conducting trials in Russian and international arbitration institutions, Lidings traditionally supports the event in terms of strategic planning, developing general concept of the seminar and putting together the program.

The event will feature discussion on the problem of diversity in international arbitration and in Russia in particular. Is the practice of international arbitration in Russia is equally open to representatives of different genders, ages and nationalities? Do Russian parties have equal access to international arbitration? Is there sufficient and quality choice of arbitrators, arbitration institutions and venues to conduct international arbitrations? The participants of the discussion will address these and other questions and share their practical experience and considerations.

ICDR Y&I is the networking group affiliated with the ICDR for those interested in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution under the age of 40. Its primary goal is to provide opportunities for younger participants in the field of international arbitration and ADR to meet, exchange ideas and learn from peers and more senior practitioners. The group has hosted (or co-hosted) events in more than 30 cities in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.

For more information about the seminar please visit the official website of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
