Partner, co-head of Dispute Resolution practice at Lidings Stepan Guzey will speak at the 4th Annual Seminar “The Dispute Resolution Process in England and Russia – An Update on Current Practice and Practical Tips” in Ekaterinburg. The event jointly organized by the British-Russian Law Association and the UK Consulate General in Ekaterinburg will be held in Palladium center located in the heart of the business district of the Ural’s commercial capital.
At the seminar, representatives of leading Russian and British law firms will discuss practical aspects of dispute resolution in the UK: the advantages and disadvantages of dispute resolution and arbitration, interim measures that may be enforced by the court and their tactical advantages, as well as share their thoughts on improving the arbitration process in Russia.
Stepan Guzey, a prominent Russian expert in the field of international arbitration with a wide experience in conducting trials in accordance with the rules of Russian and international arbitration institutions, will devote his presentation to the Arbitrazh disputes in Russia with particular focus on real estate disputes.
The BRLA was established in 1992 as the successor to the British-Soviet Law Association following the break-up of the Soviet Union. The BRLA’s objectives include strengthening links between the legal professions in the UK and the Russian Federation and providing a networking forum for lawyers, businessmen and anyone with an interest in developing Russo-British contacts and business. Lidings has actively collaborated with the Association over the past several years, and has become its official member in 2014.
